  1. Do you know if there is anything regarding blowing on the knife after making the dua?

Or is this all that is recorded regarding what to say at the time of slaughtering?

    • I didn’t read any where about blowing on the knife before slaughtering. I posted an article by Shaykh Uthaymeen titled “The Etiquettes of Slaughtering by Shaykh Uthaymeen” and the Shaykh doesn’t mention anything pertinent to the blowing on the knife wAllahu alam.

      • Na’am. JazakAllahu khair.

It’s probably another one of those ‘desi’ things which becomes common and they dont realize that this is an act of worship and thus must be done in complete accordance with the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad sallalahu ‘alayhe wasallam.

        Wallahu ‘alam.

When something is compulsory in islam there must be a text to support it. Remember in islam knowledge proceeds action.
